A to Z That's Me

Come in to my life and see what keeps a housewife so busy.

The Calabria

This is the ship that brought my great-grandfather (my grandfather's father) over from Sicily I believe in 1906.  Since then the ship has been destroyed.  He was 16 years old with only 12.00 dollars in his pocket and he could speak English.

My Grandmothers

This is my grandmother and her mother.  My great grandmother lived practically right behind my grandmother.  I always loved going over my great grandmother's house because her and the other daughters were always making homeade jams and jellies.  Of course we were always sent home with a couple jars as well as some baked goodies.  My great grandmother and grandfather owned a farm in which you see both of my grandmothers standing in the corn.

My Grandmother

This is my grandmother in 1959. She use to watch us on a regular basis and we use to have such a blast playing in her yard.  There was two large gardens. One was a veggie garden and one was a flower garden. I so loved it there.  I have tons of wonderful memories being with my grandmother.  She passed away in 1982.

My Grandfather

This is my grandfather 1959.  Yea I know he didn't look his best in the picture but you have to remember they were farmers and he also was a mechanic in which he owned his own business. To be perfectly honest with you, my grandfather always looked like this.  He was always greasy.  I remember that he didn't talk much and he was always off doing something.  When he would get back from where ever, my sisters and I would reach into his pockets and pull out coins.  It became a tradition.  He passed away in 1991 I think.  I will have to recheck that date.

Their Daughter

This is my Aunt Jo.  She was in high school here.  She married and had two kids and now has two granddaughters.

My Father and Aunt

This is my father and my Aunt Rose. My aunt Rose was a wonderful woman.  She was an RN and she could cook like no body's business. We use to have pizza night at her house.  She made everything and I mean everything from scratch.  There was always tons of dessert in her fridge and always some sort of baked goodies up on the counter.  We use to go to her house during the days after school and in the winter we would go outside and play in the snow with all the neighborhood kids.  It truly was a scene cut right out of Norman Rockwell picture.  These were some of my greatest memories.  She passed in 1997.  My father still lives in Kingston where he works behind the scenes at the local bowling alley.  He has been working there off and on my whole life.  Us kids use to play with bowling pins as toys.  That's no joke.  I remember seeing those things as book-ends, door stoppers, paper weights, etc etc.

The Hubby and I

This was taken just a few years ago. We were headed to a    christmas party.  We were married in 1986.

The Daughters

This is my daughter Ashley. It was her 4th birthday.  She is the one on the left.  The one on the right is my daughter Stephanie.

The Wedding

This is Stephanie and her Steve getting married.  She was so beautiful on that day.  They were married right before Christmas.

Here you can get away with a wedding outside in the middle of winter.

The grandbaby

This is my grand-daughter.  She is about 18 months old here.  She has red  curly hair although you can't really see it here.

Boo, that's what I call her

This is her now at Easter.  She is only a couple months older in this photo but she is the most precious red head baby I have ever seen.  I am the Nana though and can say that without feeling bad for all the other red headed babies out there.

More coming

I have more pics coming of my sons and the whole family together.
